About Us

Hi. I'm Elizabeth Kraus.

Hi. I'm Sheila Lamont.

We’ve been friends for nearly 14 years. Well, close friends for at least five or six of those years, but that’s a whole ’nother story. Through a pandemic, a mental breakdown, cancer, a divorce, the death of a parent and a sibling, and many happy moments in between, we’ve become better friends, in large part because we’ve found the courage to be honest with each other. Well, to be honest, we’re still working on that. If nothing else, we think our attempts to be honest are entertaining, and we always seem to learn something. We thought others might too.

We’ve launched Imperfectly Honest to share what we’re learning through our big life and day-to-day challenges, as well as the ups and downs of our friendship. We invite friends and family to have conversations that we’re afraid to have, and we talk with experts to help us work through our “stuff”.

Through our podcast and blog, we talk through:

How we’ve learned to be kindly candid with ourselves, each other, and anyone else who is game.

How we’ve found the courage to pursue unconventional life choices that seem strange to others but right to us.

What we’ve learned about ourselves, our friendship, and our other relationships through our physical and mental health challenges. Collectively, we have been working through cancer, adrenal and thyroid issues, OCD, digestive health issues, and a slew of unrelated and related injuries.

How we’ve repaired (and are still repairing) our own friendship, and our relationships with family, friends, and colleagues as we’ve evolved from these life experiences.

And anything else we can talk through with a mix of heart and humor.

The easiest way to find out more about what we’re up to is to subscribe to our feed, which will include posts for each of our written articles as well as our podcast episodes. To listen to our podcast on your favorite platform, subscribe through Apple Podcasts or Spotify
